Earls Court Jazz at Mr Wing
Mr Wing has been serving delicious Chinese fare to the Earls Court locals since the 80’s and continues to up its game 30 years on.
Having had a recent makeover the menu is more exciting than ever, offering a selection of the finest traditional favourites but each with a twist to make the dining experience a little more interesting. Try the Custard Battered Prawns deep fried and served with Wasabi Mayonaise, or Vietnamese Grilled Chicken Skewers with Jungle Salt, Peanuts, Black Pepper and Sesame Seeds. Enjoy Fresh Lobster as an intermediate and then savour the Oven Baked Black Miso Cod as a melt in the mouth main course.
But I’m forgetting to get to the point of this article, because the food here is very distracting, but not the only distraction…
Is Jazz and Chinese food an unexpected mix? If I threw in a floor to ceiling, wall to wall tropical aquarium would it be even more surreal?
On Friday and Saturday evenings why not enjoy all of the above in one go? At the weekend Mr Wing opens the downstairs dining area, where the aforementioned aquarium is housed, and seats their resident Jazz pianist at the eighty-eight upstairs. It’s quite a heady mix which I highly recommend.
I should also mention to those of you who find themselves at an occasional lunchtime loss that there is a wonderful deal to be had; a ‘Quick Lunch’ at the very reasonable price of £6.50. Choose any main from the lunchtime menu and it will come with steamed rice, vegetables and a free soup.
