Maroush Artisan Bakery – Earls Court Life
Have you been to Maroush on the Earls Court Road yet? If not, why not?
Never have I visited a restaurant before where a full bakery production line sits in full view behind plate glass at the back of the dining room. It’s mesmerising. And the best part is that if you order a basket of bread while they’re baking you get it fresh off the rack. Delicious!
But Maroush isn’t just about bread and cakes, their cakes are amazing, they serve some pretty scrummy Shish Kebabs too. Part of a chain of successful Lebanese restaurants and cafés this latest venture is now the base camp for creating the fresh baked goods required across all twelve locations.
I recently visited for some lunch with the small in tow. She was promptly set up with a high chair and pretty much spoon-fed herself some of the most heavenly hummus, the best I’ve tasted since I dropped in on Hummus Mashawa, Tel Aviv in 2010.
We went on to enjoy some perfectly grilled Halloumi, a medley of spiced potatoes and vegetables along with a mouth-wateringly good Shish Taouk sandwich.
I have taken the liberty of filling the rest of this post with pictures of some of the delights this bakery has on display so as to let you come to your own conclusion which, I can tell you now will be, ‘Why haven’t I been to Maroush yet?’
