Movie Night @ Ping
Those clever folks at Ping have figured out that Sunday nights can be a real drag. After all the effort you’ve put into to being fabulous on Friday and Saturday how on earth are you meant to muster the strength to sustain all that awesomeness for a whole extra day? Especially with Monday looming.
Well, have no fear. How about the best way to end your weekend all set up for your delectation by SOMEBODY ELSE?
It’s movie night people, and this month is Bromance month. Specifically that magical bond between Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller that has set screens alight for the last decade. The listings are as follows:
April 6th – Meet the Parents
April 13th – Wedding Crashers
April 20th – Tropic Thunder
April 27th – Zoolander
Doors open at 4pm and film starts at 7pm with FREE entry and FREE popcorn – you don’t get that kind of treatment at your local VUE. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Don’t Mess With New Years Eve – Earls Court Life
Leaving plans for New Years Eve until the last minute is either inspired or just plain stupid.
I myself am a big fan of spontaneity (hate it) and find that nine times out of ten (once, in my teens) leaving things to chance can open up a world of fabulous fun and unexpected frivolity (#FAIL) on a night like New Years Eve.
But if you’re not like me, and instead prefer to have a few things in order on a big night like that then please do have a look at what’s on in the neighbourhood:
Mansion Bar & Parlour
And if the above isn’t enough to choose from then try out some of the other options on offer nearby:
You could, you know, stay in…
Happy New Year!!
Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid…
Just a heads up that there is a Haunted House party at Ping on the 31st October. You’re welcome.
Blacklight Ping-Pong – Earls Court Life
Are you Earls Court folks any good at ping-pong?
Me? Not so much.
So I have decided that the best way to disguise my ineptitude is to play it in the dark. And wouldn’t you know there’s a bar right around the corner which happens to have ping-pong tables AND a whole evening dedicated to games dans le noir!
Unfortunately, Ping have gone all ultra-violet on me so I shan’t be able to disguise my complete lack of hand-eye coordination, but I will be able to look epic while missing every serve. Oh, and eat some delicious pizza when I’ve worked up a sweat.

Ping Pong and Pizza
Earls Court is serving up pizza by the slice and ping pong by the game. One of the latest crazes to rock New York City has bounced across the pond and landed squarely (or roundly) in our neighbourhood.
Table tennis, once a simple, nerdy side show for the ‘not-quite-sporty’ was transformed a few Olympics back by Asian speed demons in tiny shorts. Now, having long grown tired of being recognised as a genuine sport, ping pong is revived for the desperately hip. With bars and clubs popping up all over the shop proving that there is a clear market for ranked beer pong, it’s no wonder that a line forms around the block each Friday when Ping opens its doors.
But don’t just settle for the weekend, why not stop by for a Tournament Tuesday. Entry is free and there’s a £100 gift voucher for the lucky winner.
If you haven’t quite got your top spin perfected you can always get yourself a haircut at the eponymous Deano’s Barber Shop, located downstairs and cropping men’s barnetts from Monday-Wednesday 6-11pm.
If you’re like me and prefer a less pressured experience (the last time I played ping pong I hit myself in the face with my paddle) then just grab a stool, a beer and a pizza and take in the show.Ping 180-184 Earl’s Court Rd, Earls Court, SW5 9QG
